Hi Mitch,
While it would be clunky, I don't see why not. (Of course, we realize
the determining accidentals are a later addition.) First off,
APOKAQISTANEIS is not a participle, so your suggested translation (you
are restoring) would not be correct. And also, note that there is not
another clause in the entire GNT that begins with a second person
present form of eimi except for three instances of an imperative
(ISQI/HTE), so it would be odd. Also, this eimi structure is a common
form, but having said all that, it sure is "possible" it was written as
the second singular of eimi (though it might be silly to take it as
such).
