How does the LXX render the words Urim and Thummim? What are their Greek
meanings? Did the LXX writers just do a direct transliteration, or did
they do a translation?
__________

You will find this in Ex 28.30; Lv 8.8; Nu 27.21; Dt 33.8; 1 Sam 14.41, 28.6;
Ezr 2.63; and Neh 7.65. The LXX uses DHLWSIS and ALHQEIA though it seems
that it isn't always too fussy about which it applies to. It means "revealing"
and "truth" and was used as a method of casting lots.
