I know that this thread is dragging, but just an historical note. There
was a similar GNT produced in the early 1960's as a retroversion of the
New English Bible. If memory serves me correctly it was prepared by
R.V.G. Tasker.

Many of us function in a Multi-tool environment. Our "acquisition
strategy" basically being: "I want them all." Now, I haven't seen this
rascal yet, but you can be rest assured that If and when I find it at a
reasonable price I will add it to the tool box. I think that most of us
have our own personal strategy for establishing the text for preaching
and/or teaching. If someone works from the NIV I can understand them
starting from this text and then working through the increasingly more
detailed apparatus' of the UBS and NA texts. Perhaps that is the more
relevant discussion. . . not just the proliferation of the tools but
strategies for using them along with the attendant excuses one presents
to one's wife upon yet another (in her view) redundant purchase!
