[B-Greek] Origin of the Infinitive

I think you are very right with this observation.
However, for me at least, learning origins of
roots/words/phrase helps me get a better grasp. I
realize that in Homeric and/or Classical/Attic Greek
the infinitive may differ from Koine, but for some
reason I just seem to get a better grasp on things
when I study them diachronically. Every time a hard
question arises on this list, you will note that it is
generally those trained in Classical Greek that have
the more informed answer....if you ask me.
