Dear Friends, just wondering about Col.1:16, KAI EIS AUTON EKTISTAI. I know that EKTISTAI is a 3rd person perfect passive inidcative singular verb. I recognized this as a perfect because of the TAI suffix attached to the verb in the 3rd person sing. However, what threw me off was the augment "E" at the beginning of the verb. I know the augment appears in the imperfect, aorist and pluperfect verbs and that there is reduplication in perfect verbs. However, why does the augment appear here in the perfect passive? Moreover, where is the reduplication in this verb? Many thanks.
