Most translations of the bible use the older 'menstealers' or the newer 'kidnappers' for andrapdistais, but a few like the user friendly rated G NIV use 'slaver trader'. This appears to be a contradiction in terms of the traditions of the time and the view of legally owning, buying and selling slaves. In Greek is there a different word for slave trader and kidnapper. When I ws in college it was explained to me this referred to the illegal practice of kidnapping freemen or stealing slaves condemned in Exodus 21:16.
