Dr. Culy says that ESTIN here introduces the apodosis
of a conditional construction. Seems that the apodosis
is "If X, then Y (we make him a liar), and further,
his word is not in us." I can see there being a
"double apodosis" here (we make him a liar AND his
word is not in us), but I'm trying to see how this
ESTIN introduces the apodosis.
