Henry,
I think that we have to compare this sentence in which God and the Lamb are
honored with other sentences of this kind.
In verse 12 we have e.g.
AMHN, hH EULOGIA KAI hH DOXA KAI hH SOFIA KAI Hh EUCARISTIA KAI hH TIMH KAI
Hh DUNAMIS KAI hH ISCUS TWi QEWi hHMWN EIS TOUS AIWNAS TWN AIWNWN.
There we cannot think about an instrumental dative.
In Ps 96: 7-8 we have:
Give the LORD ... glory and strength .... the glory of his Name.
So in honoring God, we "give" Him mostly things He already has. We say that
those things are in the first place connected with Him and not with us. It
is the same principle we meet in Rev 4: 10:
They lay their crowns before the throne and say:
"You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power,
..." (NIV).
"Give" in Ps 96 - "receive" here !
So I would paraphrase your verse with "(We) give the honor for our salvation
to God ... and the Lamb".
