Papyrus, son, we used to call it papyrus.
Now in Carl Conrad's day, they were using those clay tablet things...
In Stonehouse's biography of Machen, Stonehouse includes a letter in which
Machen complains that he isn't getting enough sleep, because one of his fellow
students (I believe at Princeton) has one of those "new" typewriters, and liked
to use it until the wee hours of the morning... Even in the 19th century,
students were interersted in the latest word processing technology.
