There is an extra dimension, I think, to the corrector >adding< EN

Fitzmyer has pointed out [ Acts of the Apostles. Anchor Bible vol. 31. New
York: Doubleday, 1998.] that " the somewhat strange construction EKLEGESQAI
EN 'to choose among' is a Septuagintism ( 1 Sa. 16:10; 1 K. 8:16,44; 11:32;
2 Ch. 6:5,34 ) ".

All of these refer either directly or indirectly to David, and so are we
seeing a scribe, rather than a copyist, aware of the Septuagintism and its
connotations at work here?
