I'd like to thank everybody who responded/commented on
accents. That was very helpful to me. I myself tell my
students that if they want to read NT Greek well,
they'd have to note the accents. And I do encourage
them to read the Greek aloud as they study as I think
that helps them retain they are learning.

I also see from some of the responses that although it
does not add or deduct from the meaning of a passage,
it can help us deduce its meaning more easily by
giving us clues, e.g. whether the word is an article
or a pronoun, present or aorist participle, etc.

I'm glad I am on the b-greek mailing list. I teach at
Immanuel Bible College in the Philippines, and through
this I get input and lots of mental stimulation from
you out there.
