Carl Conrad wrote (among other things)regarding vocabulary acquisition;

 (2) The only sure-fire way to accumulate vocabulary meaningfully is to read
continuously long sequences of text in Greek, guessing at word-meanings as
far as possible from contextual clues but looking-up the words that you
don't recognize or that you think you recognize but aren't sure and that
are crucial to understanding the meaning of the text in question. This is
to say: the experience that consolidates vocabulary in memory is repeated
observation of words in similar or near-similar contexts that are just
different enough to suggest nuanced differences of sense in the slightly
different contexts.

I am doing something like this using the book suggested by Randall Buth- "a Greek Boy at Home".
If I come to a word that I am not sure of but I can kind of guess at its meaning, I still like to look it up. (I did the same thing when I started reading English books. It annoyed me to read on without knowing the meaning of some word.)
Am I doing myself a disfavour by looking up every word that I am not sure of?
It is great to read a story like this rather than just exercise lines.
I am also reading Iliad 1 but not at the rate that you did. 24 books in one month. Wow.
