Here is a simple test for aspect-only-ists

*AURION HLQON
*KAI AURION EGRAPSA
Is this good Greek? If not, why not?

Ditto for Hebrew:
*maHar ba-ti
*umaHar katavti.
Is this good Hebrew? If not, why not?

(The asterisk in linguistics may mark an utterance as unnacceptable.
In that sense it expresses my own viewpoint. However, I have added it
so that partial quotes will maintain a signal to its proposed
inappropriateness. I see enough non-Hebrew in published "Hebrew
grammars" already [e.g., *tsava 'he commanded, *nagash 'he
approached'] and would not like to see incorrect utterances multiplied
on a list.)
