Subject: Hello, introducing myself, and PROIDOUSA (Gal 3,8)
Hello everyone,
I've been a passive reader of b-greek for about a year and thought,
it's a good time for me to come up with a question...
But first of all, I'd like to introduce myself:
My name's Martin, I studied theology at the University of Hamburg,
Germany. I now live near Frankfurt and work as a journalist.
Because it was such an effort to learn the old languages, I decided to
keep them alive in my memory and use them regularly, although they
sometimes can get a little annoying, as in the case I'd like to share
with you:
Gal 3,8: PROIDOUSA DE hH GRAFH, hOTI...
I already figured out that the source of the torture is PRO-OIDA, but
I'm a little confused by the form. It (-ousa) looks like a participle
f.sg.pres., but the -id- on the other hand reminds me of Aorist, which
(I think) doesn't comply with the ending.
Any ideas to ease my pain?
Cheers,
Martin
