Dave, while you are certainly entitled to your viewpoint, I think you'll find it widely disputed by proponents of very different pronunciation systems. My own view is that it doesn't matter WHICH particular pronunciation system you use in learning Greek, but adoption of one pronunciation system for consistent use unquestionably assists aural reinforcement of paradigms and vocabulary learned and the reading aloud of texts.
