Seems to me that Psalm 89: 2 is the best example of John 8:58 in the LXX.
KAI APO TOU AIWNOS hEWS TOU AIWNOS SU EI
And the from the age until the age you are.
Notice in the beginning of the passage it starts off with PRO TOU ORH GENHQHNAI...
Pro + infinitive, just like in John 8:58. (except John uses Prin)
Translating this as a PPA would be odd in my book. Although possible.
Before the mountains were born you have been?? Or You have been before the mountains were born??
However, once we look at the Hebrew 'ATTAH `"L, you are God.
We see that the LXX writter left that part off. (or had a different vorlage) So in light of this I think the simple present is the best rendering because it is faithful to the Hebrew.
SU EI should be left as you are, because it really means you are God.
