[B-Greek] hOTAN and hOTE

Isn't one of the main differences of shade of meaning between hOTAN and hOTE that reflected in our English "whenever" and "when", the former being more vague, less definite, maybe giving, in this context (John 10:4), the idea of, "Whenever he happens to drive out all his own, he goes in front of them", as opposed to, "When [each day] he drives out..."?
