Anyone who has read Moule's book knows that it is basically a grammar,
not a book on "idioms" in the way being discussed here. All grammar and
usage is in the end idiomatic (ie. colloquial, indigenous, etc.), hence
Moule's usage.
But, George, your "proof" began to have a tone to it, did it not? I can
see the clash here since you two have something in common... you both
post messages and replies to these elists at the drop of a hat. Jim
jumped the gun in his eagerness to be involved in these conversations,
and not for the first time, I would guess. I've done it too. But George
is no stranger to prolific, and occasionally off, posting either.
My 2¢,
Joe
