B-Greekers,

I need to clarify my question. The definition of "Idiom" that I have in mind is: "A speech form or an expression of a given language that is peculiar to itself grammatically or cannot be understood from the individual meanings of its elements."

Many scholars claim that AIWNOS TON AIWNON is an idiom in this sense. But "the ages of the ages" seems to make fine literal sense, much as "the holies of the holies" makes literal sense.
