[B-Greek] "EIS" in Ac. 2:38

Carroll Osburn has shown that, in the LXX, the conflation of plurals and
singulars in commands to a group appears to carry the force of "EACH AND
EVERY one of you." He suggests that this is the point in Acts 2.38.

See Carroll D. Osburn, "The Third Person Imperative in Acts 2:38"
(*Restoration Quarterly*, 26 (1983).

I do not remember the page numbers.

>Is there any significance to the fact that Peter says
BAPTISQHTW hEKASTOS hUMWN ... EIS AFESIN TWN hAMARTIWN
hUMWN, rather than EIS AFESIN TWN hAMARTIWN SOU? Is
his use of the singular BAPTISQHTW strictly due to the
fact that hEKASTOS requires a singular, or could he
have also written BAPTISQHTWSAN hEKASTOS hUMWN? In
other words, does the use of the singular BAPTISQHTW
do something to disconnect BAPTISQHTW from EIS AFESIN
TWN hAMARTIWN hUMWN, or really do nothing of the kind?

<Doug>
i guess not.

are word order and the KAI the main indicators that
EIS AFESIN TWN hAMARTIWN hUMWN adverbially modifies
both METANOHSATE and BAPTISQHTW? And would most agree
that EPI ONOMATI IHSOU CRISTOU adverbially modifies
only BAPTISQHTW (perhaps because of word order)?
