It is well recognized that the grammar in the Apocalypse is anything but
standard.  This has led many to postulate that the author was a
Palestinian Jew who learned Greek late.  I have a different theory
regarding the grammar of Revelation.  I think it was written by someone
fully capable of writing correct Greek but who was writing in dialect.

Having stirred the pot, it is also recognized that `? ?? (hO WN) is used
because of the LXX of Ex 3.14 where it appears thus.  There is an
explanation for the other forms as well, but this is not quite so
commonly accepted.
