Luk 1:33
And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. -AV

I have heard that this verse contrasts the duration of Christ's reign with the duration of the kingdom itself - the former being temporary (see 1 Corinthians 15:24) and the latter being permanent. I had never heard of this interpretation until fairly recently, and was under the impression that this verse actually involves a parallelism with the kingdom being used synonomously with Christ's reign.

Does any one have any information which might shed light on the proper rendering of this verse? Thanks

Gabe
