Oun;

That is an important observaton on another level as well. It is precisely the kind of change a corrector would make if he thought Mark had erred in writing or if he thought the copiest of his exemplar had made a mistake. All of this to say we are reading the text correctly when we observe that the structure is problematic as translated. That is why I say we must examine all of Mark's uses of KAQWS to get it right. My latest post deals with the reasons for Mark camparing his Gospel to what stands written in Isaiah.

Hi there,

As I have talked to Rick off-list:

Mk 1:1-3

1. Non-Alexandrian texts have 'hWS' instead of 'KAQWS' and without HSAIA phrase.

2. Either way, at least, I would like take 1:2b as free-standing
insertio. This has a benefit of avoiding wrong idea of this being a
part of the quotation from Isaiah. This also allows Rick's idea of
the Author sending the messenger to the Church to read-loud. Sort of
trying to catch two birds with one stone.

Oun Kwon.
