I may be looking for the wrong thing since I don't normally run searches
for certain specific forms, but I find seven pluperfect middles /
passives in the NT -- none of them periphrastic. 

Mt 7.25
Lk 4.29; 16.20 
Jn 9.22; 11.44
Ac 17.23; 26.32
