Congratulations on your acquisitions. You have struck gold!
Westcott followed Lightfoot as Bishop of Durham. They agreed together to
write commentaries on the Greek Text: Lightfoot on the Epistles of Paul, and
Westcott on the remainder. Sadly they both died without fully
achieving their aim.
Lightfoot added to his commentaries "Dissertations" on peripheral matters
which are insightful and instructive. Obviously NT Criticism has moved on in
the intervening years, but Lightfoot and Westcott are still well worth
studying. Westcott also collaborated with Hort in text-critical matters,
especially in the Revised Version of the Bible published in the 1880s.
Enjoy!
