Dear Mrs. Kline,

Actually that is not a correct understanding of either Hans Conzelmann or his world view. Conzelmann told me (an others) ,,die Bibel sei unfehlbar." (the Bible is infallible). He also believed and wrote accordingly that Jesus was in fact God incarnate. The scientific doubt that Conzelmann proposed in context was to be utilized as a safeguard against presumptous unfounded inferences from the text itself.

If one wishes to be gullible either with oneself or others like those mentioned in Jn 21:23 then that of course is their perrogative. It is constantly being perpetuated. This is what Conzelmann's wissenschaftlicher Zweifel was meant to guard against - fideism. "Jesus came to save us from or sins, not to take away our minds."

Cordially in Christ,

Malcolm Robertson

... and why should Eric Weiss be required to accept the modernist positivist
perspective on the world which is the ideological context of
"wissenschaftlicher Zweifel" ...

This is off topic for this forum so I will desist.
