Stephen,
I was Stan Porter's T.A. for a few years, in fact, he taught me greek
several years ago. If you are just starting to dive into Verbal Aspect, I
would not recommend his dissertation just yet... but since you are looking
for a cheaper and more readable book on Verbal Aspect, I would recommend his
book, Idioms on the Greek New Testament. It is an intermediate Greek Grammar
and, while it is not just on verbal aspect, there is enough on verbal aspect
in the book that it may be what you are looking for.
Oh yeah, it is only about $36 at Christian Book Distributors.
Blessings....
Mark.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
More questions on books / sources I'm afraid.
This time, the verbal aspect and aktionsart debate.
I note that Stanley Porter has a book for $57 on the subject.
Buist Fanning also, a mere snip at $127.
I suspect that even if I could afford one of these, I wouldn't be able to
follow it...
Are there any other books / articles out there that are worth looking at?
I've just found a B-Greek thread from 1997 and have started trawling it.
One posting mentions these two books, says there are others, but does not
say what they are!
Thanks
Stephen Baldwin
