The 1940 edition is available at Perseus:
http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/cgi-bin/ptext?doc=Perseus%3Atext%3A1999.04.0057
(old interface)
http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/text.jsp?doc=Perseus:text:1999.04.0057
(new interface, which gave me an error message when I tried to load the
page)
At the old interface site it's not particularly easy to use; I've not
tried the new interface with LSJ, but the other parts I've dipped into
were much improved.
Sometimes when searching at the main page hasn't worked for me I've used
one of the tools, either the English word search tool:
http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/cgi-bin/enggreek?lang=greek
or, more often, the morphological analysis tool:
http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/cgi-bin/morphindex?lang=greek
Perseus at Tufts is often quite slow and occasionally down, and sometimes
the Berlin mirror is a better choice:
http://perseus.mpiwg-berlin.mpg.de/
This morning it gives a time-out error though ...
