Acts 15:11 - ALLA DIA THS XARITOS TOU KURIOU IHSOU PISTEUOME
SWQHNAI KAQ ON TROPON KAKEINOI.
There are several syntactical permutations not all of which equally
meet the criteria of relevance. One might read SWQHNAI as the result
of PISTEUOME. On the other hand one might take SWQHNAI as the content
of PISTEUOME.
Then we must decided where to connect the phrase DIA THS XARITOS TOU
KURIOU IHSOU. Does it modify PISTEUOME or SWQHNAI? At first glance
this question looks like it is independent of the first question but
when you consider the topic under discussion some combinations
satisfy the criteria of relevance better than others.
Parsons and Culy discuss this in their handbook and Acts.
The issue of the temporal value of SWQHNAI is probably going to
resolved differently based on which combination of the two questions
is selected. My personal view is that SWQHNAI timeless.
