Thanks!,
I will check these books out. I guess somwhere along the line, I passed the
line where intermediate level reference books are understandable to me, and
didn't realize it :-)

It sounds like you would appreciate Bill Mounce's The Morphology of Biblical
Greek (Zondervan, 1994). For first declension nouns (n-1), he has
A: hWRA
B: GRAFH
C: DOXA
D: NEANIAS
E: SATANAS
F: PROFHTHS
G: MANASSHS
H: MNA, SUKEA, ERMEA
Mounce lists all the nouns in the GNT that fall into each category, but
without a frequency count.
Bob Funk's A Beginning-Intermediate Grammar of Hellenistic Greek has an
appendix, "The Nominal System: Catalogue." For first declension nouns, he
gave four categories:
1. hWRA, GRAFH
2. DOXA
3. PROFHTHS
4. SATANAS, MANASSHS
Funk listed all the nouns occurring ten times or more in the GNT in each
category.
