The last message you read is correct. There was a project sponsored by
Westar Institute to produce a grammar of Hellenistic Greek to replace
BDF, but that committee's work was in abeyance for some time
already before the death not too long ago of its erstwhile editor,
Darryl Schmidt. So far as I know, there is no current effort to produce
a new grammar of Hellenistic Greek, certainly not in English.
