[B-Greek] Matt 1:20 to gennethen: Beget or conceive?

Not the same word, of course, but the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed states:
... KAI SARKWQENTA EK PNEUMATOS hAGIOU KAI MARIAS THS PARQENOU KAI
ENANQRWPHSANTA.
The incarnation is depicted as a mutual/cooperative/single act of The Holy Spirit and The
Virgin Mary (note that a single preposition, EK, governs them both - the same preposition
used with the Holy Spirit in Matthew 1:20; which now makes me wonder if the EN in EN
AUTHi might be translated as "by [her]" - I don't know if EN used with GENNAW can have
this meaning, though).
Anyway, the Creed suggests to me that the use of GENNAW in reference to Christ might
have been understood to mean both the Holy Spirit's begetting and Mary's conceiving.
