[B-Greek] interlinears

My experience with interlinears: I bought one quite a while ago. I thought
I was buying a Greek Bible with English on the next page.
As soon as I started to use it I noticed that it was not going to be helpful
in learning Greek.
It did not work to bad if I covered the English with a piece of paper but
once I got a UBS 3 (for $0.25 Canadian at a used book store) things went
better.
Now all I use the interlinear for is to decipher the B-Greek posts if I
don't have a lot of time to do it the proper but more time consuming way.

Concerning what Rob Redden wrote; I agree that it is to a large extent due
to the fair and consistent moderation that this site is so useful.
I have had some experience with other discussion groups where the degree of
moderation (control? oversight?) is less than it should be. It hinders
discussion more than I imagined it would.

Concerning recurring topics; Dr. Conrad (as well as others), your replies
may seem tedious to you but they are more helpful than you think. I have
been member for several years now. If a topic comes up that has been hashed
and rehashed, I can skim over the replies fairly quickly to see if there is
anything new. The little bit of time that takes is a small price to pay for
having the information available to newer members.
It is after all a discussion group and not just an archive with information.

Thank you to the moderators and participants alike for a great forum.

Bert de Haan.

To all list members,

We are truly blessed to have such a scholar and humble servant, Dr. Carl
Conrad, moderate this list. His guidance has been more than superb, and
sage
advice always helpful, his scholarly insights enlightening. We owe him a
great
debt of gratitude for the job he has done keeping us in line and bringing
order out of chaos (at times!). This last piece reveals his heart as
teacher,
scholar and Christian that serves as a model for us all. Thanks Dr. Carl
Conrad, your labor of love has not gone unnoticed!!!!

Merry Christmas to all.

Rob Redden
