For those who don't have either electronic software to search for this or a Greek concordance to locate it, the passage is Lk 3.23.

I'm not sure that I understand what it is you are asking since the usual understanding of these genealogical passages doesn't result in an appreciably different understanding from what I take you to mean. Let us diagram it

Traditional view:

A -----> B -------> C ------> D

What I understand you to be saying:

A -----> B
A -----> C
A -----> D

In either case A ends up being a lineal descendant of D.

Greetings all,

KAI AUTOS HN hO IESOUS WSEI ETWN TRIAKONTA ARCOMENON WN WS ENOMIZETO hUIOS
IWSHF TOU HLI TOU MATQAT TOU LEUI ... TOU SHQ TOU ADAM TOU QEOU

Regarding "Jesus" as "A"; this geneology is generally read as "A of B; B of
C; C of D" culminating in "Adam, the son of God". I was reading a few days
ago that it could be understood as "A of B; A of C; A of D" culminating in
"Jesus, the son of God". I would be pleased to hear your thoughts on this.

Sincerely,

Nicholas Plant
