Well, we don't have many virgin births, so it's hard to tell. But if the 
stock market rises precipitously, a man can find himself rich. After 
numerous outbursts of temper, a husband might find himself divorced. 
After losing a spouse, a woman could find herself alone in the world. It 
is that sort of usage I had in mind.
