Hello Group,

This is my first post here and hopefully this topic is one that will draw
some interest. It is something that I have been considering for some time
and I have not been able to find a good answer to.

My question specifically involves Sharp's construction (TSKS). I have done
a lot of reading on this subject. I have focused mostly on what has been
written by Wallace and Bowman as they seem to be two very vocal people on
the subject, I’ve taken what I can from the grammars I have and my own
reading of various Greek writings. In reading these I have not found a good
answer for what I see as an issue with it.

Specifically, I do not understand exactly what plural substantives are
excluded. Plurals in the TSKS construction can refer to one group, two or a
subset. When two groups a single article will carry a unifying force under
whatever classification is being discussed. It seems to me that the same
could happen when a singular substantive is used.

Does anyone have any insights into this?

Thank you,

Mondo Pascal
