Any feedback on this attempt at a close translation?
And as he sat across from the contribution box, he was watching how the
crowd was putting coins in the box. And a lot of rich people threw in a lot
of coins. And one poor widow came along and put in two half pennies-in other
words, a penny. And Jesus called his followers over. He said to them, "I'm
telling you, seriously-that poor widow put in more than all the people
putting money in the contribution box. Because they all put in out of what
they had left over [1]--but she, out of her shortage of money, put in
everything she had--her whole living!"
[1] Lit. "they all put in out of what was extra for themselves".
