Dear Rolf,
It is quite apparent to me that you are not current with the latest research
in psycholinguistics, involving the issue of conceptual construction in
human cognition. You seem absent of any knowledge pertaining to the ad hoc nature
of conceptual formation in human cognition. Are you at all familiar with the
research of Barsalou? If you’re not then you should be, since Barsalou’s
experiments and results document the complete overthrow of your
conceptualization of concepts as described above! What should be of concern to you is that
your entire understanding of conceptual formation has influenced how you
interpret an ancient text. If the foundation upon which your interpretative
approach is grounded is flawed, then I would be very suspect of what ever
interpretation you reach based on such a foundation.
