I've been lurking for a while on this forum but only asked one question some time ago. I've heard from a couple of sources now that 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 are something Paul is quoting, perhaps from a the letter sent to him from the Corinthians or some other Jewish source. Are there any grammatical signs which clearly demonstrate that these two verses are a quote from someone else that Paul is then taking to task in the following verses? For instance some say the opening article in verse 36 indicates Paul is arguing or proposing an alternative to the quote.
I would appreciate any understanding you can provide.
Best Regards,
Ken Graham
