Let's try this again with the original subject-header.

Subject: Dilogos

I am looking for some information on how those living in the 1st
century would have understood the term DILOGOS. It is only used once
in the Bible and I would like to get a feel for how it should be
translated today. I have the usual lexicons BDAG, LN, Thayer, UBS,
and Friberg.
In Xenophon, it appears to mean simply to repeat oneself, to say
something twice. In what way is this to be understood as a negative
quality?

Thanks in advance,

Ron Snider
