PLEASE IGNORE
This is a test. This is ONLY a test.
I have noticed that my lines have not been wrapping properly in the archives so I am resending a copy of a recent post to see if the lines now wrap properly.
Jn 14.16
K'AGW ERWTHSW TON PATERA KAI ALLON PARAKLHSIN DWSEI hUMIN, hINA MEQ' hUMWN EIS TON AIWNA Hi
I see no reason to take this as anything other than counsellor. That one would have an advocate continually with him does not indicate any consolation (other than the fact that the presence of a counsellor would tend to be consoling).
Jn 14.26
hO DE PARAKLHTOS, TO PNEUMA TO hAGION, hO PEMYEI hO PATHR EN TWi ONOMATI MOU, EKEINOS hUMAS DIDACEI PANTA KAI hUPOMNHSEI hUMAS PANTA hA EIPON [EGW]
The fact that the function assigned to the PARAKLHTOS here is teaching [DIDACEI] and reminding [hUPOMNHSEI] does not indicate comfort but rather counselling.
Jn 15.26 You have conceded that this involves being an advocate. That there might be a sense of comfort derived from this does not accrue to PARAKLHTOS the meaning or even the connotation of comfort.
