I have had this request come to me; I haven't responded to it
personally because I believe translation of a papyrus Greek text
involves skills that go far beyond those of people handling texts
that are intact: there's so much intelligent guesswork required
regarding lacunae and rare words, and usually consensus on the
meaning of a badly-mutilated papyrus is not that readily reached. In
my perspective therefore, translating a mutilated papyrus text
requires extraordinary skills. If anyone feels so endowed, he or she
might contact Sue McMullen at the e-address indicated. Please send
all replies OFF-LIST. Thanks.
