[B-Greek] Could someone help me with this very short sentence?

Assuming that the participles are circumstantial with the sense "when  
we ... " or "because we ... ", that will work (the only thing I'd add  
would be a MEN ... DE to enhance the antithesis: PONOUNTES MEN  
ACQOMEN, PONHSANTES DE CAIROMEN.

But an articular infinitive might more clearly express the causal  
relationship than a circumstantial participle: TWi MEN PONEIN  
ACQOMEN, TWi DE PONHSAI CAIROMEN.
