That's very useful. Can you give one or two examples from the MT and/or the
LXX where this form of expression occurs?

With the style adopted by the author of the Apocalypse I would consider the
KAI to be a reflection of the Semitic use of the waw. I would render it "I
will grant my two witnesses to prophesy . . ." or "I will allow my two
witnesses to prophesy . . ."

Dear Listees,
In Rev. 11:3 John says,
I'm going to give [??] to my two witnesses.
KAI DWSW TOIS DUSIN MARTUSIN MOU
Is there any way of being confident of what the implied direct object is
here? Most translations have "power" or "authority", but I can imagine "a
command", "a testimony", or, as I've rendered it, "a message".
I'm going to give a message to my two witnesses. And they're going to
prophesy.
Any help would be appreciated.
