For the benefit of those who may be unaquainted with some of the MSS here is a scan of Sinaiticus. The section which contains this verse is in the lower right corner beginning at the end of line 13 from the bottom.

I'm not sure where you get your statements regarding either the GNT or W & H since the GNT text = NA and W & H has hO TI -- at least the 1881 version which I have does.

Subject: [B-Greek] Jn 14:13 hOTI vs. hO TI

Jn 14:12 last portion reads

KAI MEIZONA TOUTWN POIHSEI
hOTI EGW PROS TON PATERA POREUOMAI:

Jn 14:13a then reads

KAI hO TI AN AITHSHTE EN TW ONOMATI MOU

What I have in a GNT text (which is based on Westcott-Hort) is this:

KAI hOTI AN AITHSHTE ~

My questions are: (1) Is hOTI the way W-H text reads or a typo in my GNT copy?

(2) Since there would be no spaces between words in the original mss,
how one can tell which is correct?

If I accept hOTI, this clause seem to function parallel to the last
clause in the preceding verse. Jesus was thus saying that the
disciples will do greater things, because (1) He is going back to the
Father, and because, (2) He will do whatever they ask in His name.
This would better fit for the context.

Thanks for your enlightenment.

Oun Kwon.
