[B-Greek] Introduction, post-Wenham and the Greek fathers

For the umpteenth time I will voice my opposition to the use of interlinears. There are occasions when some help with a passage is needed. The Hebrew of Job is notoriously difficult. In such cases I will sometimes put an English translation UNDERNEATH my electronic copy of the Hebrew so that I must make an effort to look at it. The same can be done with Greek, and is also possible with print texts. Put a bookmark in your translation and set it aside on your desk so that you will need to make an effort to look at it. The problem with interlinears is not simply that they give you a translation but that it is right in your face the whole time.

James is right, Brenton is still available, although I would recommend
steering clear of interlinears, if at all possible (better to use the
Vulgate or Hebrew or some other less familiar language as a pony/trot).
Nonetheless, here is the info:

"The Septuagint with Apocrypha: Greek and English"
Reprint of 1851 edition
by Lancelot C. Brenton
Hendrickson Publishers, 1986
vi + 1134 pages + iv + 248 pages, English and Greek, Cloth
ISBN: 0913573442
List Price: $44.95

Cheaper online...

HTH,
James
