[B-Greek] Is Thucydides helpful reading material?

Thank you all. I have read appreciated every response.

I didn't intend to suggest that I was just starting to read Attic. I
have been working my way through the Attic playwrites for longer than
I care to admit including Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides and
Aristophanes. Aeschylus was the only one of these I found
intolerable; among other problems, he appeared to have a private
vocabulary.

I would like to read some Attic narrative. I have read some of
Xenophon but lost interest in him quickly. I like Herodotus but he
isn't Attic. Anyway, I will take a look at Thucydides, read some of
the easy sections. I can get what I need from the library so there is
no risk in taking a shot at him.

Thanks again for the warnings, insights and suggestions.
