KAI LEGWN hOTI PEPLHRWTAI hO KAIROS KAI HGGIKEN hH BASILEIA TOU QEOU, "METANOEITE KAI PISTEUETE EN TWi EUAGGELIWi

METANOEITE here is a 2 pl imperative of METANOEW and simply means "to repent" or "to feel remorse" according to BDAG. I would contend, however, that it involves more than simply feeling sorry about something. It is a change which involves not only one's attitude, a change in one's way of thinking, but also a change in the way in which one responds from that point forward.

As to your question of the difference between METANOIA and METANOEITE (lemma: METANOEW): METANOIA is a noun and signifies the act of feeling remorse and changing one's attitude. METANOEITE, as stated before, is an inflected form of METANOEW and thus refers to the action of actually changing one's attitude.

Get rid of Strong's and get a decent lexicon, preferably BDAG though Louw and Nida are sort-of acceptable. You will never make progress in Greek so long as you rely on Strong's and interlinears.

Subject: [B-Greek] "Repent"

In Luke 15, the prodigal son went back to his father not only because
he had a "change of mind and heart", or, "change of consciousness." I
think that "he went to his father" spiritual meaning is -- "He return
to or remember his father words." (Deut.31:6) and (Joshua.1:5) -- "I
will not fail you or forsake you." Also see (Hebrew.13:5).

I want to know if "repent" (metanoeite) in Mark 1:15 really means
"return to the original" or back to the real message becuase of the
Pharisee religion?

If not, what is the diferrent between "metanoia" and "metanoeite."

I have looked up for the meaning for "metanoeite" without finding a
good explanation.

Can you help me with the word "metanoeite" in (Mark.1:15)?

Have a wonderfull weekend.
