Given the context of Thomas's bitter challenge (Jn 20:25), I laughed when I
encountered this statement by the risen Jesus:
Jn 20:27 FERE TON DAKTULON SOU hWDE
But then I thought it's no doubt an idiom, so that you could say, FERE TON
DAKTULON SOU hWDE to mean "put your finger here" if you wanted someone to
keep your place on a page. Can someone show me some equivalent uses of FERW
with a finger? Or is it possible that Jesus is saying, "Bring your finger
over here", as in "Let me have your finger", so that he could guide it into
the nail holes?
