Amos, just a brief comment. I have taught NT Greek for many years,
using the modern pronunciation and using the Spiros Zodhiates (a
native Greek) recording of the NT as backup. Reading is very easy
although spelling (less important at least for the beginner) is hard,
because so many vowels and diphthongs make the sound ee.
As to the language itself, I have found bright students do not find
it too hard. Certainly if one has done some German before it is not
too demanding,
